Heritage Youth Forum to be Launched in Central Luzon

Various cultural workers and scholars, students, youth leaders, and young advocates of heritage will gather in the Juan D. Nepomuceno Center for Kapampangan Studies, Holy Angel University, Angeles City on 16 July 2015 for the launching of the have witnessed the launching of the 1st National Youth Forum on Heritage (1NYFH). It will be highlighted by the unveiling of the official logo of the 1NYFH, featuring the silhoutte of the National Arts Center, the famous landmark of the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA), Los Baños, Laguna. PHSA which will host the event from 11-14 November 2015.
The launching will be followed by a brief tour in the CKS Museum and the Museum of Kapampangan Art. The program proper will take place at opened in the Audio-Visual Room I of the San Francisco Javier Building of the university. In the program, the official website of the 1NYFH will be made public. Ian Christopher Alfonso, Chairman of the NYFH, presented to the audience the overview, mechanics, and the application package of the 1NYFH.
A lecture-demonstration on the making of parul sampernandu by Roldando Quiambao, a four-time champion of Ligligang Parul or Giant Lantern Festival in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, followed the program. It was the first 1NYFH conjunction activity, in partnership with the Katipunan da ring Talasaliksik at Talaturung Kapampangan (KATATAGAN).
The NYFH Secretariat decided to launch the 1NYFH in Angeles City in reognition of the brainchild of the NYFH, the The Outstanding Students of the Philippines Region 3 Alumni Community of Heroes, Inc. (TOSP R3ACH).
The NYFH is the first biggest gathering of young heritage advocates and cultural workers in the country to celebrate the wonders of the Filipino nation, to affirm their commitments to nation-building, and be inspired by each other and by the invited established cultural workers, scholars, and vanguards. The delegates is expected to actively voice out their ideas and concerns to the stakeholders of heritage and the cultural agencies of the government, and determine contribute in the forum’s proceedings.
The NYFH is a proud youth program by the youth, of the youth, and for the youth. Its steering group is composed of young men and women who selflessly consecrated their ideas, time, energy, and skills for its success for four years: The young leaders of The Outstanding Students of the Philippines Region 3 Alumni Community of Heroes, Inc., Project Saysay, and Proyekto PH. It is supported by the RFM Foundation, Inc., the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Philippine High School for the Arts.
